PV (Photo Voltaic) is converting sunlight directly into electricity by solar modules (panels). Thermal is converting sunlight into heated water (or other mediums) either used directly for heating or transmitted into electricity with turbines. The solar industry has had an annual growth of 40 % the last 5 years (fastest growing industry in all times) and is expected to grow with double digest the coming years. This mainly due to increased awareness of global warming (EU goal of 20 % renewable energy by 2020) and increased competiveness compared to other energy sources (reaching grid parity). Solkraft Mounting Systems is a Norwegian based company providing profitable and innovative PV mounting structure solutions to large EPC contractors worldwide. Our core markets are in Germany, Italy and Spain. In 2008 and 2009 we delivered a total capacity of 1 MW PV projects, among them 2 projects to IKEA.
